Recipe: Caramel Apple Shake

Image Fall is in the air! And next to pumpkin, apple and caramel are the ultimate fall flavors! It’s not quite chilly enough out there yet to need hot apple cider, so while the weather is still pleasant, why not indulge in a fall-tinted summer treat? Cue the caramel apple milkshake. (Yum!)

We found this recipe via MomOnTimeOut.com and it’s so simple! Serving this delicious treat in a Mason jar is optional, but adds a bit of rustic fall flair if you’ve got one lying around.

What you need:

– 8 oz apple cider
Right now apple picking season is in its prime, and there’s no better time to head to your closest orchard and pick up a jug (or three) of fresh apple cider.

– 3 scoops vanilla ice cream

– 1-2 Tbsp caramel topping

– whipped cream

What to do:

1. In a blender, combine apple cider, vanilla ice cream, and caramel topping.

2. Top with whipped cream and drizzle with caramel topping if desired, serve, and enjoy!

So simple, and so delicious! It would be easy to entertain all ages with this delicious seasonal twist on two classics.

Of course you can always serve it with some sparkly party favors, but maybe we’re just inclined to add jewelry to everything!

Oyster Pearl Cookies

Image

While perusing the wonderful world of Pinterest, we came across these oyster “pearl” cookies from Living Well Spending Less, and they were too cute not to share!

These seem pretty easy to make, as you buy the cookies pre-made and simply need to add frosting and a pearl-like candy. All you need is 2 packages of vanilla wafers, some pink frosting, and pearl-colored Sixlets candy. Simply spread your frosting, add your pearl candy, and cover with another wafer at an angle, resembling an oyster. Refrigerate to harden until serving.

These would be so adorable for an ocean or mermaid themed party! And we think we have the best party favor… pearls

Enjoy!
